Biofuels duty
The measure
As announced in Budget 2008, the current 20 pence per litre duty differential for biofuels (ie 20 pence per litre less duty) will end with effect from 1 April 2010.
However, the differential will be retained, for a further two years, for biodiesel produced only from waste cooking oil.
Who will be affected?
Businesses producing biodiesel from waste cooking oil.
When?
The changes removing most biofuels from the differential relief will come into effect from 1 April 2010.
Apart from the announcement on biodiesel produced from waste cooking oil, the changes generally confirm previously announced policy.
