Increase to Gift Aid benefit limitsIncome tax relief will be available to individuals and companies making gifts to charities and/or Charities and Community Sports Clubs (CASC’s) on or after 6 April 2007 even if they receive a benefit, up to defined limits, in recognition of the gift. The limit has been doubled for donations over £1,000 to 5% of the donation. However, the total benefit received cannot exceed £500, previously £250, irrespective of the size of the donation. For donations of less than £1,000 the maximum value of the benefit received
by the donor is 25% for gifts of less than £100 and £25 for donations
between £100 and £1,000.
